DeFacto Leads Turkish Retail Into Omni-channel

Forward-thinking apparel and fashion retailer sees 15% of orders use reserve and collect option

TORONTO – Sep. 22, 2016 – OrderDynamics, the leading cloud Retail Order Management System (OMS) provider announced that DeFacto, a ready-to-wear apparel and fashion brand in Turkey, selected the OrderDynamics OMS to expand into omni-channel retail. With this OMS implementation, DeFacto becomes one of the first Turkish retailers to offer omni-channel capabilities, in the region. Already 15% of all Defacto.com.tr orders come from omni-channel, which includes click and collect, reserve and collect, kiosk, and call center purchases.

DeFacto was founded in 2003 as a textile manufacturer and quickly moved into the retail space. Today, the retailer has over 300 stores in Turkey and more than 60 international stores in 12 countries and territories across EMEA. DeFacto has relied heavily on technology innovation, implementing an advanced ERP system they developed in-house and strategically investing in omni-channel capabilities. After careful analysis of their order management requirements, they chose to invest in OrderDynamics to deliver improved performance and efficiency.

“We have always made an effort to be on the cutting-edge of technology and when we decided we needed an OMS, we wanted to continue that trend,” said Eser Erkan, E-commerce Director, DeFacto. “Integrating the OrderDynamics cloud solution and our on-premise technologies has been very smooth, and our customers have been very receptive to the new functions. We are seeing 15% of all orders coming from omni-channel, like click and collect, reserve and collect, in-store kiosks, and our call center. All this is driving more traffic to our brick-and-mortar stores.”

DeFacto is also leveraging OrderDynamic’s inventory virtualization and visibility functions to show customers all store inventory to customers, using 17 Ístanbul stores’ inventory to fulfill orders. Not only does this improve foot traffic and store sales, it also increases in-store inventory velocity. By pulling in-store inventory for online orders, DeFacto is reducing slow-to-move items and overstocks in the stores. Continuing its innovation, DeFacto has set up in-store kiosks for customers to make online orders if the item is unavailable at that location.

“DeFacto is a leader among its peers in the region and we’re honored to be part of the journey as they become a leader in omni-channel,” said Nick McLean, CEO, OrderDynamics. “With the help of OrderDynamic’s OMS, the company is in a unique position to offer their customers, both online and in-store, the convenience and flexibility of fulfillment they want and need, fueling their growth and expansion goals.”
