QA Analyst

Role Description

In this role, the QA Analyst will be responsible for testing SaaS or large scale websites, multiple web browsers and distributed systems as needed. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with 4+ years of experience testing software and must be team oriented and innovative with a high ability to problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently as a fully engaged member of a Scrum team, testing stories developed in sprints
  • Perform regression tests by creating, executing and maintaining lightweight test cases
  • Maintain and update test cases in form of Key Testing Points (KTPs) via Testuff
  • Responsible for finding and verifying defects found during development
  • Create and maintain Automated Acceptance Tests via FitNesse
  • Create automated regression test scripts that are converted into Selenium test scripts
  • Create and maintain a set of automated regression tests using tools such as Selenium
  • Part of the support process to help diagnose issues and test hotfixes before they are released

Qualifications

Educational:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable University-level program

Technical:

  • Minimum 4+ years of commercial experience in testing Web and Client/Server applications
  • Deep knowledge of different testing methods and a willingness to adapt to current needs: exploratory testing, scenario-based testing, usability testing, regression testing, destructive testing, automated testing, smoke testing
  • Experience testing high-scale, multi-tenant SaaS applications or large websites
  • Experience with basic web debugging tools like Firebug, IE Developer Tools, Chrome Developer Tools, etc.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server
  • Ability to prioritize a testing matrix. Knowing where to focus to get the best return of tester’s time
  • Experience with other eCommerce Products, OMS, CRM, etc.
  • Experience with automated web UI testing (Selenium, etc.)
  • An understanding of how to create and manage performance testing practices
  • Knowledge of FitNesse
  • Ability to prioritize a testing matrix. Knowing where to focus to get the best return of tester’s time

Location

This position is based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Our office is casual but fast-paced. Regular office hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm and off-hour work may be required in the normal course of projects. Travel is not required in this role.
